Is the denim tuxedo making a comeback?????

Fashion always derives much of its inspiration from social and cultural context...but, has the state of the economy fostered a back-to-basics, roll-up your sleeves work ethic style trend? A debate is brewing as to whether an apparent resurgence in head-to-toe denim styling is acceptable or down right tacky. In all reality, the answer probably depends on where your perspective comes from. I think we all can agree that here in New Hampshire, there are definitely those folks who take it a bit too far, not to mention the tragic abundance of the "jort", or jean short.

Check out the San Francisco Chronicle link below for some interesting opinion from across the design spectrum, including from Michael Glasser, founder of 7 for all mankind.

What's your opinion? Let us know. Is the denim tuxedo making a comeback?

  1. Women can get away with it for sure, but I don’t know about men. The eighties were awful. Denim has evolved a long way since then, but the tuxedo is a reminder of an unfortunate past. Maybe a dark denim blazer with some jeans could work for a cocktail party.
